Amazing photographs of an even more amazing city - Horst Hamann has captured some amazing views of New York in this book. There are varying sizes of this book that I believe Amazon should stock as the smaller book does not do the photos justice but even so it is definitely a book to get if you love New York! The photos Horst has taken has inspired me to improve my photographic skills! A book definitely worth parting money with!!!
Not the coffee table book I was looking for.... - Since my trip to New York I have felt deeply attatched to this city and I have searched for the perfect coffee table book of Black and White photography to capture this place. I thought I had found it here, the pictures are wonderful - but the size is not! The book is tiny! Maybe Amazon should mention the book dimensions - particularly for photography books.Lovely pictures, but you need a microscope. I d gladly pay for a larger version but this is the only one, so I sent it back.
Fantastic pictures, interesting quotes - I actualy bought this in New York on a recent trip, it was the only book I saw whilst there that captured NY city completely.What makes it different from any other is that the photos are very artistic & un-tourist like, and some of the quotes are veryinteresting, from all sorts of people. Even the shape & format is unusual.An excellent book.
